Our Founder

Muhammad Obaid

Muhammad Obaid is a visionary and skilled architect in Biomorphic architecture. He designed the Al Fanar School and The Circadian Clouds, a design celebrated globally for its sustainable and climate-responsive approach. Moreover, he has been awarded by the Supreme Council of Culture for designing and developing the architectural idea of the Flying Platform project in Al Barari.

Born in Tanta, Egypt, in 1979, Muhammad Obaid studied Architectural Engineering at Tanta University in 2001. Obaid graduated in 2004 and has also specialized in urban culture conservation and land use development. He has extensive experience working in Historical Architecture and Conservation in Egypt, including the great sites of national historical importance.

With the knowledge and expertise, Obaid founded EMKAAN, an architectural, interior, and engineering consultancy firm in Dubai, UAE, in 2009. He has been practicing architecture, urban planning, interior design, and project management since 2005, and creating designs that are beyond imagination.

Maha Khalil

Graduated from the American University of Sharjah, Maha has an interest in culture, history, research, and architectural criticism. She is EMKAAN’s in-house critic, ensuring that the designs meet international standards.
